EASLEY, SC — South Carolina District 5 State Representative Neal Collins took to social media today to share some big developments impacting our area, specifically concerning road improvements.
He shared that the Legislature has approved $250m of the state’s surplus budget for this year to be used for improving local roads.

Two relatively big news:
First, the Legislature allocated a one-time $250m of its surplus to local roads in this year’s budget – a huge boon for local roads. Pickens County’s share was $3.5m … pic.twitter.com/XcfOkqd5Uc
Pickens County will receive $3.5m of the $250m allocated for the road improvements.
The Pickens County Transportation Committee determined the following roads would receive the improvements:
- Silver Creek Road in Central
- Golden Creek Road in Liberty
- Cove Creek Road in Pickens
- Holly Springs School Road in Pickens
- Ann Drive in Liberty
