The School District of Pickens County just announced by SMS, email, and social media that due to inclement weather expected in the area from Hurricane Ian, all schools will be operating virtually tomorrow, Friday, September 30th.
Did you know?? When wind forces of 30 MPH or greater strike the side of a school bus, the forces can exceed 500 lbs. Wind forces can impact steering and tracking of buses in motion. This is true for sustained winds of 30 MPH or greater or wind gusts greater than 40 MPH.
