Easley City Council Ward 4 complete voting guide

On April 25, 2023, the residents of Ward 4 in Easley will have an election to select a candidate to fill the vacant city council seat. That means that only the electors living within municipal boundaries of the City of Easley Ward 4 can participate in this election.  

Currently, as of March 1, 2023, that is a group of 1,879 active voters. In 2021, James “Terry” Moore ran unopposed and won the seat with 85 votes.

Every person wishing to vote in this election must be registered as an elector and a resident of the municipality 30 days prior to the date of election. Any person wishing to vote in this election must register no later than Sunday, March 26, 2023. Voter Registration by Mail forms will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, March 27, 2023.   

To register to vote in Pickens County or update your address and/or other voter registration information: 

  • Visit the Office of The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Pickens County at 222 McDaniel Ave, Ste. B-9, Pickens, SC, 29671. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Also, Early Voting will be available Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, beginning Monday, April 10th and ending Friday, April 21st, 2023, at the Pickens County Voter Registration Office, 222 McDaniel Ave., Pickens, SC 29671; 864-898-5948. 

As of 11:00 AM, March 2, 2023, there are two candidates on the ballot for the Easley City Council Ward 4 office: David R. Jones and Gene Patterson. Both have filed as nonpartisan candidates. We will be interviewing the candidates and linking the articles here.

The deadline for submitting a statement of intention of candidacy is 12:00 PM, noon, on March 3, 2023 at Easley City Hall. The filing fee of $360 must be submitted by the deadline as well. Voters have the option of writing in a candidate on the ballot as well.
