Special election set for April 25 to fill Easley’s City Council seat

A special election will be held for the Ward 4 City Council seat on April 25, 2023 to fill the vacancy. The position was previously held by Easley city councilman Terry Moore who died Monday, January 30, 2023.

Candidate filing will open at noon on Friday, February 17, and close at noon on Friday, March 3. The potential candidates must be registered voters who lived in, and were a resident of Easley Ward 4 for a period of no less than 30 days before the date of the election (April 25, 2023).

Residents who wish to run for the position can file as a candidate at Easley City Hall during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. At the time of filing, each candidate must submit a Statement of Candidacy form and pay the filing fee of $360. Candidate filing forms are available at scvotes.gov.
