Seussical the musical opens tonight at EHS auditorium

Easley High School Theatre cast of Seussical the Musical.

Easley High School Theatre will present Seussical the Musical opening tonight, Friday March 10th at 7PM and Saturday March 11th at 2:30PM. Seussical is a musical comedy that debuted on Broadway in 2000, and is now one of the most performed shows in America. Written by Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the show features some of the most iconic Dr. Seuss characters.

“We are excited to bring musical theatre back to the Easley High School campus,” said theatre director Allison Mitchell. “Our students have been rehearsing for the last three months to bring the whimsical world of Seussical, a Dr. Seuss inspired musicalto the stage. We are so proud of their work and can’t wait for audiences to see what our cast and crew have created for you!”

“This is our first musical post-COVID, so we wanted to choose a show that would get our students excited about theatre again and to grab the attention of the Easley community to let them know that Easley High School Theatre is back! Seussical is bright, fun, and the characters are familiar, which made it the perfect choice for us this year.”

In Seussical, the Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton the Elephant who discovers the Whos living on a speck of dust. Horton befriends a Who named Jojo, the thinker of too many “thinks”, and tries to protect Whoville. Sometimes, while loitering …on an egg. There’s a lot more to it, but you’ll have to come out and watch the play.

Student tickets are $5, Adult tickets are $10. All tickets will be sold at the door. The show runs approx 95 minutes (including intermission). A great show for the whole family!
