A man has won $250,000 off of a lottery ticket in Easley while picking up dinner, according to South Carolina Lottery officials.

Officials say that the man was on the way to pick up a bite to eat when he stopped at the OM Food Mart on Highway 153 in Easley for a Powerball and scratch-off ticket.

The man thought that he won $50,000 at first glance on his $5 Giant Jumbo Bucks ticket and then read the instructions on the ticket and realized that he won five times the amount, according to officials.

The man plans to give his church and hire a contractor to do some work on his house, officials say.

According to officials, the odds of winning the $250,000 in the $5 Giant Jumbo Bucks game are one in 960,000 and only four top prizes of $250,000 remain.

OM Food Mart in Easley received a commission of $2,500 for selling the claimed ticket, according to officials.
