3 graduates join Pickens County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team

On 04/21/2023, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office held a special graduation ceremony recognizing members of our K-9 unit and their handlers for successfully completing the Basic Handlers Certification Course through Carolina K-9 Academy.

Please join us in congratulating Deputy Brady Autry with Shadow, Deputy Nikki Holliday with Kona, and Deputy Brenden Carmichael with Dak!

We have increased the size of our multi-purpose K-9 team to 4 dual-purpose dogs and two bloodhounds, adding increased coverage and abilities to assist other local agencies. The K-9s will be utilized for article searches, drug detection, and tracking services for suspects and missing or endangered citizens throughout Pickens County.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office has accomplished this goal through various types of funding, including creating a 501 (C)(3) tax-exempt charity called the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Fund, allowing for tax-free donations. Donations to this fund will help us purchase additional K-9s, equipment and ensure they continue having high-quality training. Donations will also go to veterinarian care, medications, and quality of life, including taking care of our K-9 partners after they retire.

Any donations of two hundred ($200.00) dollars or more will receive a Pickens County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team challenge coin!
