1 injured when shots are fired from one car into another in South Carolina, deputies say

Shooting happened Wednesday night

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina is investigating a shooting where a person in one car apparently shot a person in another car while the cars were driving.

According to deputies, at 6:38 p.m. on Wednesday, a possible shooting was reported in the 800 block of Pelzer Highway near Easley.

Deputies said as they were responding, they were notified that a man with an apparent gunshot wound was dropped off at a local hospital.

The man is at a hospital and is stable, deputies said.

Deputies said the investigation is ongoing, but at this time, it appears two vehicles were driving on Pelzer Highway when shots were fired from one at the other.

Deputies believe the people in the two vehicles knew each other, and the shooting is related to a previous altercation.

Deputies are working to identify everyone involved in the shooting.
